So, I've started a new thread just to keep any Darkness talk that may come up, as I think a few of us are interested in playing multiplayer, and I myself would quite like to at least play the single player again.  I hope we've inspired a few of you to go and get it as well, and play through it at least once.  It really is a class game.

Is tonight (Sunday) enough notice for a multiplayer game?  If not, how about one weeknight?  There is one free map available for download so make sure you grab that if you fancy joining in.  There are lots of achievements up for grabs in multiplayer, most of which will come with normal play but we can whore if people are interested in that.  It's up to people who are there are the time I guess.

Now, to plan out another run through the game getting the achievements I missed.  I appear to be missing quite a few I should have, so I need to put the game in and double check if they've just not shown up or something.  I finished it at Rowanwolf's house so I might not have been online.  If not, I don't even mind because I'll take pleasure in doing it again. 

I really just wanted to take the opportunity to do this:

I'd be up for this tonight (or in the week). Not touched the game for ages (heck, it's one of my few pre-STAG games) and never got around to trying the multiplayer, so any excuse to dig it out again is good. Might need a little time to readjust to the controls, though.

I popped it in last night and instantly fell back in love with it.  I'm going to try and get at least all the offline achievements, and possibly whore the online ones as well if I can find people willing to help in return for getting them the achievements also.

A decision which continues to baffle and sadden me, sir.  Hey, if I ever do get a PS3, I promise I'll play some kind of PS3-exclusive multiplayer game with you   So... in six months or so, I'll be up for a game of MotorStorm or Wipeout.  Maybe nine months...

I'd be well up for a bit of multiplayer Darkness, though I haven't played it around two and a half years.  I'm actually tempted to just begin the game all over again (I'm not really all that far in anyway), just because whilst the plot remains fresh in my head, I can't remember any of the details or controls.

Assuming I can grab an hour to reacquaint myself later, I'd be up for it tonight, yo, or any time.

I was still tempted to get a PS3 if I had an abundance of spare cash right up until they took backwards compatibility out, meaning I'd still have to keep the PS2 wired in.

Balls to that, matey.

Bloody hell, I'd forgotten how addictive this is. Loaded up a game just to reacquaint myself with the controls and was still playing it four hours later! More than ready to try the multiplayer now. 

I did notice you were on for quite some time!  

It really is glorious, isn't it?  I am currently zipping back and forwards trying to get achievements, but I think once I've done a few I will do a proper new playthrough.

I finished my third play through just a few weeks ago and it was still as marvellous as I remember.  One of the best surprised of this gen for me.

Oh, and CUS, about the PS3... just don't man.  I don't understand either  :'(

You haven't even started the game, yet.  At least play until you get a few Darkness powers.

The voices are irritating- the goth bloke vs suited goons with guns and cool swearing is annoying me*, and the motion is making me queasy.

I'll try again later in the week though.

It's based on a comic, and you've not got past the opener to get to the comic book style stuff.  It'd be like playing Metroid before you lose all your powers and declaring you're too godlike.

Yep! I've completely fallen back in love with it. Not sure why I stopped in the first place. Managed to get all the Darklings and am currently getting stuck into a few side-missions. Only thing I find annoying is the way Jackie walks - it's like he has two broken legs!

I'm surprised to hear gratuitous swearing levelled as a complaint.  Given that the plot revolves around - as well as Jackie's story - a mob fall out, and the game begins with a heist gone wrong, the language and general mood seemed utterly natural to me, and I normally react very, very badly to forced, 'edgy' intrusions of any sort.  It reminds me of Tarantino at his best/least annoying (delete according to opinion), and I also find 'goth bloke' a really weird criticism.

More intriguingly, it's shown me that there your Facebook name uses the letter 'y' and not the letter 'i' at the end of each of your names.  Is this indicative of a subtle but terrifying personality difference?

Rather more terrifyingly, it's indicative that the name "Weirdy Beardy" was taken by another xbox live user. I keep meaning to find out who, and then flame him mercilessly until he gives it back to it's rightful owner, i.e. me.
