I remember it now, yes. Yes, that was most amusing. Was that the one where we ended up back where we'd started after walking around for ages?

We started off in one pub, near the Sainsburys there, did a long walk around the whole of Stafford, circling back on ourselves before then heading left at that first pub and walking on even further to find some semi-decent pub about a quarter of a mile further on
Yup.  It was awesome.

That's... sweet, I think.  Although it smacks to me of some kind of royal sailing association bringing out a special action figure of Donald Crowhurst.  "They didn't do very well!  Their equipment was bollocksed!  Hoorah!"

True but in this case she's arguably the most successful of all time, unless you count Lella Lombardi's single 6th place in a shortened race. Desire did enter one other world championship event where she ran ahead of some Nigel Mansell fellow but that race's championship status was later withdrawn (long story).

And here's a pretty picture to look at.

I wanted to let you know that on April 15, 2010 Microsoft will discontinue Xbox LIVE service for original Xbox consoles and games, including Xbox 1 games playable on Xbox 360. Our first step in this process will be to turn off auto-renewals for those members who only use Xbox LIVE on a v1 Xbox. While I can’t comment on the specifics, this change will allow us to continue evolving the LIVE service with new features and experiences that fully harness the power of Xbox 360 and the Xbox LIVE community. We did not make this decision lightly, but after careful consideration and review we realize that this decision will allow us unprecedented flexibility for future features.

Boo-urns, Microsoft.

Not really seeing the problem, it's been 7 years and the console hasn't been made for 4 and a half. It's not like EA stopping you playing 09 games online. They kept it going as long as people wanted it enough to subscribe rather than killing it the second they had something new to sell.

I just don't see why they feel the need to kill it.  People still pay for it and there's a demand for it still as games like Halo 2 show.  It just seems that a software company such as MS could implement a solution to this "Oh, we want to implement something old LIVE won't allow us to!" could find a way to make the old stuff work regardless.

Or, even, just to tell us what these things are.

Granted, the only time I've used my Xbox 1 online recently was when my 360 pegged it and I played some Halo 2 and Outrun 2, so I'm not going to me massively upset over it.  It's just a bit boo-urns.  I liked the fact my LIVE account worked on both platforms and could use all the games.

What's the protocol for mashing up other people's photos (from flickr and the like) for the purposes of hilarious forum in-jokes?

HTTP.

If it's public and available, go for it.  On the main boards we try to be as hands off as possible, we're all big boys and girls now.  As long as it's not outright trolling, it's allowable.

Aye.  Japes and jollies are fine, but if Shit Gets Real, or Shit Gets Weird, or Shit Get Real Weird, then we start with the water-boarding.

We steer the boat, and you follow us behind with a parachute attached to your back, holding onto a rope, on skis.  It's fun, and helps everyone reassess and calm down.

Will do, skip. I'm too lazy/scared to troll.

As I was typing on Xbox last night before something pranged 'Laziness would be the foundation of my empire. But I can't be arsed'.

B&M Bargains > Aldi > Asda > Tesco or Morrisons.

That's the order I follow when I go shopping.  B&M is where I get super-cheap stuff, Aldi is where I get a wider range of cheap stuff, and Asda is where I get almost everything else, similarly cheap, before I go to the last two for fresh stuff.

I'm not saying I visit each one in turn every time I go shopping.  That'd just be crazy!  But that is the general rule.
